Stilettos & Strategies was born from Nu Epps’ walk away from burnout—and into purpose. In 2014, what began as a soulful women’s conference has evolved into a thriving year-round movement where Black women gather to grow, glow, and get things done.
We get it—being powerful can feel lonely. Many ambitious Black women navigate life and leadership without a space that gets all of them. That’s why we created one.
To cultivate a strategic and supportive collective of enterprising women who gather, grow, and glow together through connection, collaboration, and coaching—culminating in an empowering annual conference that reflects a year of intention, impact, and inner work.

In 2012, Nu Epps, Founder and President of Esyntial Elements Consulting Inc., took a leap of faith, leaving corporate America to pursue full-time entrepreneurship. Knowing the power of shared experiences, she hosted the Dream.Live.Launch. Mixer—not just to celebrate her transition but to inspire other women to step into their greatness and invite them to build something bigger, together.
Yet, as she rallied for collaboration, she noticed a stark contrast—while men eagerly partnered and took action, many women hesitated, paralyzed by fear, doubt, or lack of support. This realization ignited a deeper mission for Nu. Determined to remove financial and resource barriers, Nu personally funded basic startup expenses for participants in the Launch Out Loud (LOL) Entrepreneurship Contest, ensuring that lack of capital would not stand in the way of launching a dream. But even after winning, receiving mentorship, and having everything in place, many of these women still did nothing to move themselves or the ideas forward.
After deep reflection and heartfelt conversations with contest winners, the answer became clear: women needed more than just money and resources. They needed encouragement, a strong network, and the confidence to move forward. With that revelation, in 2014, Nu created the Stilettos & Strategies Women’s Conference—a safe space where women could have real conversations, gain practical strategies, and be surrounded by a community that believes in them.
For the past decade, Stilettos & Strategies has been an intimate, high-impact experience—limited to just 40 women to foster authentic connections and meaningful transformation. However, in response to overwhelming demand, increasing waitlists, and the evolving political and social climate, Nu is committed to doubling her impact.
For the first time ever, Nu Epps and Esyntial Elements Consulting are opening our doors to 100 women in Houston, Texas.
This isn’t just another conference. It’s a movement. A sisterhood. A space where women at every stage—aspiring, emerging, and established—can share openly, strategize effectively, and take bold steps toward their future.
